As cliche as is may be Paris, is truly the City of Romance. That's why so many couples still get engaged in this wonderful city. On average at the top of the Eiffel Tower, there are 9 proposals per hour. Maybe the best location in the world for a guaranteed, Yes!
Sadly all too often couples leave with a fleeting memory of a momentous moment in their lives.
It's the perfect time to have an engagement portrait session while you are in Paris. That's just what Darius thought when he contacted me.
While on their Paris vacation Darius decided to propose to his friend and have a surprise engagement session while they were here.
Now the beautiful bride-to-be has photos where she can always remember one of the most special moments of her life.
Not so much. After the new Woody Allen movie, Midnight in Paris, combined with rainy weather that has been dimming the City of Lights, this phrase has been popping up a lot for me.
I was recently contacted to photograph a couple coming to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary in Paris. Unfortunalty it was scheduled to rain all week long. Not a problem for me, I like a challenge and some of the best images in my portfolio have been taken in bad weather.
I told the couple that the shoot will run rain or shine and to buy an umbrella so we can take some fun rainy day Paris images. I have to say that this couple made the job easy, they were so well spirited and had a great attitude.
We shot for about an hour and and unfortunately the wife's make up started to run and the winds were getting stronger. They were such good troopers that I offered to split the shoot for another day.
We had better weather the second time, but my favorite images were the ones in the rain.
I'd been contacted by Dina who was in Paris celebrating her recent marriage to Philip by taking a European vacation with a stop in Paris.
Dina sent me some links of the type of photos that she wanted and we'd exchanged a few emails discussing her shoot and I could tell she was very excited for it.
Based on what she showed me I planed a fun photo shoot and came up with some very iconic, yet modern images I wanted to create. I don't normally get clients who are so well prepared for a shoot and Dina's research really showed in the photos.
I would even venture to guess that she'd been practicing posing, because they were amazing to work with. Dina didn't hesitate to do any of what I asked even when it came to her laying in the grass in her beautiful wedding gown.
The shoot went so well, I started having a bit of competition by the end as tourists started taking photos of her. I love all the images from their shoot and would be happy to photograph them again.
I started Photo Perfect Paris to combine my love of photography with my love of Paris and as a way to share my passion with others.
