Malik and I first met though an artist association in Paris called American Artists in Paris (AAIP), at one of the monthly meetings we got to chatting and instantly clicked.
We decided to have coffee one day so we could talk a bit more outside of the group meetings. Malik is a talented and accomplished singer in Paris and spends a good amount of time traveling on tour.
While we were talking he mentioned that all the photo's he had of himself were always from an onstage performance and usually with him in an unfaltering pose. Images great for concert photography but nothing really for him personally.
So we scheduled a shoot to rectify that. My goal was to get images of him, not the signer; he already has thousands of photos of him signing in action, but I wanted to capture the person.
The shoot was a lot of fun as we were laughing and joking the whole time, and I was able to get the image I had envisioned, of the man behind the music.
I started Photo Perfect Paris to combine my love of photography with my love of Paris and as a way to share my passion with others.
